In 2011, Daniel moved from the small town where he was born, in rural Brazil, to Rio de Janeiro. He went there to attend college. He was the first of a group of queer friends to leave the town. Ten years later, none of the people who were part of that group live there anymore; some have died, and those who are still alive have moved to an urban center. The town is called Catalão, a place everyone says is too good to live in.
